The Committee on Better Racial Assurance (COBRA), will honor Judge Richard Fields for his astute legal strategies and diplomatic counsel that helped many citizens suffering from injustices during the early years of COBRA.  He was there when we needed him the most to share wisdom, make strategic contacts, and advise the many volunteer leaders on matters that delivered many people from personal and family disasters.

Honoring Judge Richard E. Fields

Dear Friends of COBRA and Judge Richard Fields,

As you are aware, the COBRA Board recently announced plans to host a “Drum Major for Justice“ Award Luncheon, honoring Judge Richard Fields on Saturday, February 17, 2018.  The luncheon was also to serve as a fundraiser for COBRA to support the many projects it sponsors to assist people in the community.

After further discussion, given the cost associated with holding a large public event, the COBRA Board decided to honor Judge Fields in a more intimate way by holding an invitation-only event with close friends, colleagues, and family.

We are grateful that a few sponsors have agreed to underwrite the celebration which will be held at the same place and time for a smaller group of attendees. Although tickets will not be sold, and we are not requesting sponsorships and/or advertisements, please consider donating to COBRA so that they can continue the important work that they do for our community.

Invitations to the event will be mailed in early January 2018, with RSVP by January 31, 218.

Thank you so much for your attention to this correspondence.
